Arthonia platygraphidea

A. platygraphidea always has black round or slightly elongated apothecia that appear to have been dropped into a semi-solid thallus.  Thallus becomes pushed up around the apothecia and often adheres to its edges. The thallus is white or ash-white. Easily recognized when once seen.
