Parmotrema tinctorum thallus.

This is another species of the group that rarely produces sexual fruiting bodies. Instead it relies on tiny fragments (isidia) of the mother lichen breaking off and hopefully finding a suitable spot to clone its parent. The tiny grains showing on the surface of the lichen in this photo are the isidia. Unlike spore production, which reproduces only the fungal partner, isidia production, if successful, vegetatively reproduces the whole lichen.
