Trypethelium tropicum

This is one of the easier lichens to identify in the field. Perethecia are solitary (sometimes close together but not joined or in pseudostromata) and normally raised like an urn sitting on the thallus surface.  Tops are flattened and the dark ostioles are frequently surrounded by a white ring.
