Gryostomum scyphuliferum

The asci of Gyrostomum are somewhat elongate and narrow. They may have parallel sides or the upper half may be slightly inflated similar to a baseball bat. Many descriptions refer to this shape as clavate (also see the ascus filled with spores by clicking the spore link).
