Myriotrema rugiferum spore.

Spores of this species become purple when stained with potassium iodide. Spore septation is variable. Four-celled spores are common (3 or 5 cells are also occasionally encountered). In addition, many times the middle cells become divided vertically as well, but the end cells remain whole. The term submuriform is applied to this condition.
